A. On the basis of your understanding of the couplets, complete the following statements by filling in the blanks.

B. Answer  the following questions in about 30 words, elaborating the ideas given in the couplets.

1. The key to a successful life is to tread the middle path and avoid leaning on the extremes.

2. The various forms of government are democratic, monarchy and dictatorship. The best form of the government is the one with the best administration where people enjoy their rights and are happy.

3. The main concern of the people should be Charity. The other concerns which divert people's attention from this are religion, faith, hopes and beliefs.

C. Read the extracts given below and answer the questions that follow.

1. (a) 'Middle state' means leading a balanced life.

(b) 'Middle State' can be achieved by staying on the middle path and not leaning on the extremes.

(c) Yes, this line is relevant to student's life, they should follow the middle way, i.e. one should main a balance between studies and sports. He should focus on both studies and sports equally.

(d) To lead a virtuous life one should have patience, generosity, compassion, prudence, justice, fortitude and tolerance.

2. (a) Zealots fight over the types of faith.

(b) Zealots are called 'graceless' because they fight for the succession of their religion.

(c) The person who follows the path of truth his life cannot be wrong.

(d) Peace is the most essential part of today's life of violence. zealots can attain peace by countering the forces of baseless hatred that unconditional and zealots love and pursuit of peace. By fostering and intensifying unity and brotherhood, peace can be attained.
